Day 1 Kathmandu to Paro
The journey typically begins with a flight from Kathmandu, Nepal, to Paro, Bhutan. The flight itself is an adventure, offering stunning views of the Himalayan peaks. There will be a shuttle from the hotel to the Kathmandu Airport based on your flight itinerary. The National Airlines of Bhutan, Druk Air, will transport you to Paro. When the weather is clear, the flight offers a breathtaking view of Lhotse and Mount Everest. You will now travel a short distance to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan, after arriving in Paro. The main attraction of the first day of the journey is the historic Thimpu fort, known as Tashichho Dzong. The greatest time for a first-day journey is after that, in the afternoon market in Thimpu. You may still explore Zangto Pelri Lhakhang, which is close to the market area, depending on the time of day. It is frequently regarded as one of the tallest structures constructed in the 1990s.
Day 2 Paro to Thimphu
The tour includes a visit to Bhutan's capital, Thimphu. Here, you can explore cultural landmarks like the Tashichho Dzong, the National Memorial Chorten, and the Giant Buddha Statue. The city also provides insights into Bhutanese lifestyle and traditional arts and crafts. The National Library, the Heritage Museum, and the King's Memorial Chorten are the starting points for day tours throughout Thimpu.
Day 3 Thimphu to Punakha
First on your list is Punakha, the capital of Bhutan during the winter. The third day in Bhutan. Explore the Punakha Dzong, situated at the confluence of two rivers, and enjoy the beauty of the fertile valley. Don't think about your lodging alternatives in Thimpu. A drive across the about 3050-meter-high Dochu La Pass will reward you with a beautiful views of Gangar Puensum, Bhutan's highest peak. Wangdue Phodrang Dzong and Punakha Dzong are located in the fertile Valley Punakha.
Day 4 Punakha to Paro
Return from Thimpu to Paro and explore major heritage sites like the National Museum, Kichu Lhakhang, Rinpung Dzong, and Drukgyel Dzong. Visit the ancient watchtower, Kichu Lhakhang, built around 7th century, and Drukgyel Dzong, built to honor the victory against the Tibetan Mongol Force. The tour ends with a visit to Jomolhari Mountain.
Day 5 Tiger Nest Monastery Hike or Day Trip to Haa Valley
Choose between a hike to Tiger Nest Monastery or a Haa Valley Excursion, passing through Chele La Pass for stunning Paro and Haa Valley views. Visit Chorten Nagpo, Karpo, and Haa Dzong, with permits subject to Bhutan Government. On the way back, hike to Dzondrakha, a monastery similar to Tiger Nest Monastery, or Taktshang Monastery, a steep uphill climb with scenic views. The final destination is Drukgyel Dzong, a fort built in honor of Tibetan Warrior, located 14 km north of Paro. Jomolhari Peak can be seen from the Dzong's courtyard.
Day 6 Back to Kathmandu from Paro
You will once more be transferred to Paro International Airport in accordance with your travel itinerary. Fly with Druk Airlines to leave Bhutan. Our agent will greet you upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport and arrange for a transfer to your accommodation. Your final departure will be handled by us, and we'll plan ground transportation to the airport. Enjoy your tour to the fullest.
